Women’s Institute WWI Plaque at the Westport Cenotaph


A plaque honouring 11 local Westport men killed in WWI, donated by the Women’s Institute in 1924, has been restored to its beautiful original condition with funding by the NWORA Community Memorials Programme. The plaque was refurbished and rededicated in 2021.

NWORA Education Outreach Programme

The NWORA Education Outreach Programme (EOP) is aimed at establishing a living memorial to the Fallen in the minds and hearts of young Canadians across the country. The EOP partners with the “Lest We Forget Project” to connect Legions with local boards of Education, to consider researching a local or family-related member of the Fallen as part of their educational program.
